Gold, Williams for match play title

MISSOULA - Josh Gold of Kalispell and Spencer Williams of Great Falls are the two survivors in the championship flight after Saturday's play at the Montana State Men's Amateur Match Play Championship at the Missoula Country Club.

Gold, the No. 3 seed in the four-day event, defeated Chris Goldan of Manhattan, 1-up, and Adam Hober of Missoula, 1-up, Saturday to advance.

Williams bested Logan Lindholm of Kalispell, 4-and-3, and Chris Haas of Billings, 1-up.

Gold and Williams will play today at 8 a.m.

In the president's flight final, Gary Koprovica of Missoula will square off against Jason Johnstone of Havre.

Roy Stanley of Lakeside defeated Leonard Ward of Billings 4-and-3 Saturday to win the second flight.
