MISSOULA - Josh Gold of Kalispell won the Montana State Men's Amateur Match Play Championship on Sunday at the Missoula Country Club.
Gold, who was seeded third for the golf event, defeated Spencer Williams of Great Falls, 7-and-5.
Gold led Williams by five after the first round of 18 holes. He led by as many as eight after 26 holes.
Williams trailed by just four after 19 holes, but by seven when he conceeded to Gold. That was on the 13th hole of the second 18 when Williams lost a ball on his second shot.
Jason Johnstone, Havre, defeated Gary Koprivica, Missoula, 2-and-1 to win the president's flight.
