LETHBRIDGE, Alberta - The Kalispell Lakers road swing through Alberta, Canada, over the weekend was a draw.

The Lakers were swept by Lethbridge, 5-4 on Sunday and 8-7 on Friday, while taking a doubleheader from Medicine Hat on Saturday, 4-0 and 5-2.

That leaves Kalispell with a 4-5 mark in league games, 19-14 overall on the American Legion Class AA baseball season.

On Sunday, Kalispell tied the Lethbridge game at 4-all in the top of the ninth inning. Derek Keller reached on an error and scored on a fielder's choice.

But Lethbridge came right back in the bottom half of the inning to win it. With two outs, Lethbridge used three straight hits to pull it out.

The Lakers stranded 10 runners in that game, four at third base.

In the 8-7 loss to Lethbridge, Kalispell coach Ryan Malmin said: "We had some costly errors. We took ourselves out of some innings with aggresive base running."

Against Medicine Hat, the Lakers rode the strong pitching of Zach Davis and Adam Olson and played well defensively.

Davis, in the first game, had to contend with two rain delays - 4 1/2 hours and 30 minutes - in going the distance.

Olson threw 75 pitches in his seven-inning victory.

Austin Zapata had a big weekend at the plate, going 11-for-17.

The Lakers host the Missoula Mavericks on Wednesday, 6 p.m.
