Pill-swallowing causes concern

| March 1, 2007 1:00 AM

Flathead County deputies answered a welfare-check request from the hospital about a 14-year-old girl who kept calling the hospital saying she had taken seven ibuprofen and 12 caffeine pills and was vomiting. The combination carries no serious effects. Deputies found that the mother was aware of the pills that she allegedly took at school with friends, and was monitoring her daughter. But she was more concerned that the pills came from another parent and were taken by the kids at school. A short time later a 15-year-old girl came to the hospital reporting the same pill-swallowing incident. The hospital asked deputies to check on yet another 15-year-old girl reportedly home alone, but they found the house dark and closed up.
