Thomas F. Bardsley, 49
Thomas F. Bardsley, 49, passed away at his Kalispell residence Feb. 12, 2007. Thomas was born July 6, 1957, in Longview, Wash., to Bruce and Elizabeth (Michelsen) Bardsley. He spent his childhood years in Massachusetts, and in 1976 he graduated from the American-Nicaraguan High School in Managua, Nicaragua.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as an Army Ranger from 1983 to 1987, and he earned the Army Achievement Medal. He was honorably discharged.
Thomas then attended Clark University in Worcester, Mass., where he graduated summa cum laude in 1992. He also attended Emerson College in Boston. His primary degree was environmental sciences. Thomas also held a degree in film production.
He managed the chemistry lab at Holy Cross College in Worcester, as well as re-organizing the hazardous materials storage facilities. He then worked for Semitool as a semiconductor wafer processor and R & D development in Kalispell.
He formerly was married to Gail Joubert Tyler of Columbia Falls.
Thomas enjoyed photography, music, birding and fishing.
He is survived by his parents, Bruce and Elizabeth Bardsley, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; sister, Lisa Davison, and her husband, Frederic, of East Bridgewater, Mass.; brother, John Bardsley, of New York City; and several uncles and nieces.
A memorial service for Thomas will be held at 1 p.m. today, March 1, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1780 Talbot Road, in Columbia Falls.
