Charles J. Wingard, 80

Charles J. Wingard, 80, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2007, at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls.

He was born Feb. 2, 1927, in Barber to Alfred C. and Frances A. (Michalski) Wingard.

Chuck joined the Army after he graduated from high school. After his discharge from the Army, he attended and graduated from Montana State University with a degree in civil engineering.

He went to work for the U. S. Forest Service in Missoula. During his employment with them, he was stationed in Dillon, Orofino, Idaho, Billings, Juneau, Alaska, and Kalispell. He retired in 1983.

During his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Norma Schaff and Nellie Peck.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Lorraine, of Kalispell; his children, Shelley Mehner, Joseph Wingard and Russell Wingard; and two grandchildren, Austin Mehner and Taryn Mehner.

No services are planned at this time.
