Kalispell police had two contacts with a 46-year-old man Tuesday night. First they arrested him for partner or family member assault. About four hours later, his wife reported that he was back, banging on the door and windows to get inside. The next day, they notified her he was released from jail.

A credit card, hunting gear and CDs were among the things reported stolen from two vehicles on Northern Lights Boulevard.

Road rage lasted from just south of Whitefish to East Idaho in Kalispell. A close turn set off another driver and set up miles of reckless driving and disorderly conduct. Both happened in the county, so police referred the call to the Sheriff's Office and the Highway Patrol.

A woman reported cruelty to animals, so the animal warden followed up. A man was upset about his dog running in traffic but did not appear to have been cruel.

A woman's ex-boyfriend threw a bottle of cleaning fluid at her and tried to throw rocks before leaving a hotel, she said. She moved to a different room.

A male was arrested at Kalispell Junior High on suspicion of assault with a weapon Tuesday morning.

A male was arrested at Linderman School on suspicion of theft Tuesday afternoon.

Two small girls were reported stealing from a freezer at an Eighth Street West home.

Dog owners were ticketed after two dogs were seen at-large, and one tried to bite a letter carrier.
