Dustin Matthew Downing, 21

Dustin Matthew Downing, 21, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. He was born July 15, 1985, in Whitefish to Scott Downing and Darcy Bechtel. Dustin was raised and educated in Columbia Falls.

He worked as a concrete laborer.

Dustin lived his life to the fullest. His best buddy was his uncle, Jerry Ray. He always watched out for his mom and brothers. He was our rock. He will be deeply missed by everyone.

He loved to hunt, fish, and cut firewood with his uncle, Jerry Ray.

Dustin is survived by his mom and stepdad, Darcy and Les Sorensen of Columbia Falls; his father, Scott Downing of Martin City; his stepdad, Jim Hegel; his brothers, Derrick and Douglas Downing, all of Columbia Falls; his stepbrothers, Nick and Sam Sorensen; his stepsisters, Jessica and Hailey; his grandparents, Jerry and Linda Downing of Columbia Falls, Bev and Carol Sorensen, also of Columbia Falls, Diane and Don Sigman of Grande Coulee, Wash., and Ray Wamsley of Kalispell; his aunts and uncles, Ed and Nichole Bechtel, Barb Bechtel, Don Downing, Renee and Jeff Morton, Nyleen and Gator Martin, Christy and Jeff Downing, Jerry Ray Downing, Leslie Downing, Ernie Holmquist, Bobby and Debbi Bechtel, Wally and Connie Downing; and his cousins, Tonya Martin, Payton Martin, Chris Martin, R. J. Bechtel, Tavia Bechtel, Logan Bechtel, Hanna and Ryan Bechtel, Josh Downing, Jayden Downing, Sam Gilley, Brooke Gilley, and Kayla Gilley; and numerous other cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 26, at the Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at the Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls.

There will be a reception at the Eagles Club in Columbia Falls following the burial.
