Lillian Patricia 'Patty' Riley, 70

Lillian Patricia "Patty" Riley, 70, a native and lifelong resident of the Flathead Valley, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007, at her residence after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 5, 1937, in Kalispell to Harold and Lillian Roatch. She attended Hedges Elementary School and graduated from Flathead High School in 1956.

During her young adult life she was busy raising a family. In 1978, she went to work for Valley Bank. She worked for Valley Bank for 20 years, and during that time developed many lifelong friendships.

After her retirement from the bank, she was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning and operating a unique women's retail clothing store. Most recently she was working for Mountain West Bank, where she made many new friends amongst the staff and customers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant brothers; two husbands, Jack Denton and David Duval; and stepdaughter, Charlotte Riley.

She is survived by her husband, Richard D. Riley; two sons, Jack Denton and wife, Janet, of Charlotte, N.C., and David Denton and wife, Susan, of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Lisa Duval, and Terri Loudermilk and husband, Andy, all of Kalispell; stepchildren, Donald Riley of Thompson Falls, Sandra Lehman and husband, Charles, of Peoria, Ariz., and Michael Riley of Daytona Beach, Fla.; four sisters, Veletta Mitton and husband, Bob, and, Joey Porteous and husband, Clifford, all of San Diego, Luella Mitton of Helena, and Jackie Roatch of Kalispell; grandchildren, Jack Denton and wife, Beth, Jami Shewalter and husband, Levi, Stacia Denton, Amanda Fowler and husband, Chad, Jessica White, Riley Loudermilk, Sydney Loudermilk, Paige Leighty, Alexandria Clausen, Amy Goldberg and Peter Dero; great-grandchildren, Eden and Elihu Shewalter, Aspen Fowler, and Riley and Ethan Bolton; and many special nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. today, March 28, at Johnson Mortuary. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. in the Johnson Mortuary chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, March 29, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Vic Langhans as celebrant. Burial will be afterward at the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. There also will be a luncheon in the basement at St. Matthew's church after the burial service. All are encouraged to attend.
