Pirates dominate county meet

POLSON - Logan Torgison was a three-event winner at the Lake County track meet in Polson.

The junior won the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 to help the Pirates run away with Tuesday's meet. Polson scored 175 points, Ronan-St.Ignatius was a distant second with 81 points and Arlee was third with 54 points.

Other multiple event winners among the boys were Polson's Bryce Picard in both the 100 and 200 and Ronan's Alan Skogen in the shot and discus.

On the girls side, Charlo's Adri Hammond is the newest member of the 10-foot pole vault club.

Hammond vaulted 10-foot-one-inch for first place. She also placed second in the 400 and 800 to help Charlo score 127.5 points, good for second place.

The Polson girls won the meet with 133 points. Ronan-St.Ignatius was third with 71 points.

Other multiple event winners for the girls were Charlo's Amanda Murphy (discus and shot), Ronan-St.Ignatius jumper Kelsey Cable (long and triple jump), and Polson's Merilee Mowbray (200 and 400).
