The Whitefish City Council has a relatively light agenda today to make time for money matters.

City Manager Gary Marks will present his annual budget overview, using a PowerPoint presentation to outline major objectives. He'll also talk about the community's ongoing growth trend and its impact on the budget.

A couple of public hearings will deal with small subdivisions - a lot split in Suncrest Lakeview Townhomes and the four-lot Ramsey Lake View Subdivision on Ramsey Avenue.

The council will consider an amendment to the bike trail master plan that designates the Dakota Avenue bike path built in 2001 as part of the Dakota Avenue improvement project.

The council will select a consultant for downtown infrastructure improvements. The Public Works Department is recommending a consultant team that includes Peccia and Associates, Walker Parking Consultants of Denver, Grover and Co. architects of Whitefish and landscape architect Bruce Boody of Whitefish. The contract is not to exceed $325,100.

A proposal for yellow "dawg" paw prints on city streets from U.S. 93 to the high school will be considered. The paw prints would be along the edge of the street on 13th Street to Columbia Avenue, to Seventh Street and Pine Avenue, ending in the high-school parking lot.

The council meets in special session at 4 p.m. to interview candidates for several city committees. The regular meeting begins at 7:10 p.m. at Whitefish City Hall.
