Loggers sweep Rangers

LIBBY - The Libby American Legion baseball team got its first doubleheader sweep of the season Saturday with 8-4 and 11-0 victories over Kootenai Valley.

Colton Cannon and Steve Bertelsen pitched gems for the Loggers and helped improve the team to 3-4 on the season.

Cannon, a 15-year-old, struck out five and walked none while spreading six hits over five innings. Bertelsen walked none and stuck out two in giving up just two hits in four innings of work.

Matt Schad supplied the offense in the first game with a double and three RBIs. Kasey Basso, 16, went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in the second game.
