Kalispell police are "fairly confident" that two mobile-home fires last weekend are related cases of arson, Kalispell police Chief Roger Nasset said Tuesday.

The fires broke out within two hours of each other Friday at a mobile home park in the 1200 block of North Meridian. The first was reported at 10:05 p.m., and the second at 12:08 a.m. Nobody was injured in either fire.

Officials said both were put out within five minutes of firefighters' arrival. Damage to the first home was minimal, but the second home is a total loss, officials reported.

Police say the origins of the fires appear to be suspicious, so they have been investigating.

"We're looking at people of interest," Nasset said.

Anyone with information on either of the fires is asked to call Kalispell police detective Sgt. Tim Falkner at 758-7780, or Kalispell fire Asst. Chief of Prevention D.C. Haas at 758-7763.
