Deputies arrest assault suspect
Flathead County sheriff's deputies arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of partner or family member assault after a disturbance Tuesday evening at the Backwood Trailer site on Montana 35. Deputies said he beat a woman, then took her son and left in her vehicle. They caught up to him and took him into custody, and handed the child over to Department of Family Services.
It just wasn't safe, said the caller who spotted a woman driving in the Smith Valley School parking lot with two children whom she allowed to sit on her lap, then let another child jump into the car while it was moving.
Four deputies went to a domestic disturbance Tuesday afternoon on Potter Lane in Columbia Falls. The man and woman were separated, and the man got a ride to the bus station.
