Man gets caught up in his own lies

| May 23, 2007 1:00 AM

Whitefish police didn't believe the 24-year-old man when he wanted to report his vehicle as stolen, so they questioned him further. Whether it was conscience or evidence that won out, he confessed to being the one who left the scene of a property accident on Greenwood Drive. He was charged.

Two Whitefish women, one 23 and the other 28, were sent to the police station after they appeared in city court. Their offenses? Contempt of court - one of them for violating conditions of her release.

A woman's first clue that anything was amiss with her identity was when collection agencies began sending her bills for something she didn't purchase. She called police.

Failing to yield right of way and driving with a suspended license turned out to be bad ideas for the 21-year-old Whitefish man stopped on Baker Avenue by the viaduct Wednesday evening.

The Alcohol Enforcement Team was called out to the Whitefish area just after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
