Grant Bernard Arend, 45

Grant Bernard Arend was born in Riverside, Calif., to Bob and Margaret Brown Arend on Dec. 28, 1961. He died in Cedar City, Utah, on Nov. 3, 2007. His father, Robert Arend, already misses him.

Grant married Melanie Johnson in Parowan, Utah, on Feb., 25, 1983.

Grant was a good man, a great husband, a family man and a wonderful grandfather. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and most of all he loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He truly loved his family. Wherever he went, he made friends. His wife is proud to call him husband for close to 24 years, and he will always be in her heart and the hearts of others. He will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Melanie, of Kalispell; his children, Melena and Tim Cox of Texas, Christine and Brett Backus of Montana, and Grant Jr., and Lacy Jo Arend of Montana; his father, Robert Arend, of Kanarraville, Utah; his brothers, Craig of Utah, Keith of Texas and Gary of California; one sister, Diane, of California; and his five grandchildren, Briget Cox, Alea Ann Arend, Haley Sprele, Tyson Backus and Grant Bernard Arend III.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Arend.
