It is with great sadness that the family of Robert "Bob" J. Denning announce his passing. After a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Bob, 64, died peacefully in his sleep on Nov. 14, 2007, at his home in Bigfork.

Bob is lovingly remembered and missed by his wife, Jeanne Denning; his children, Robert and Kaleen Denning, Mark and Teri Denning, Kristina and Jeff Friday, Carma Carlile and Mike Flake, and Sam and Julie Drew; his mother, Leona Denning; his sister, Judy and Larry Wehr; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as many, many friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Rulon Denning; and stepson, Joe Drew.

Bob was born Oct. 26, 1943, in Hamilton and raised in Missoula by his parents, Rulon and Leona.

He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed many annual camping trips with children and grandchildren. Bob was very active and liked to hunt, fish, and golf with his friends and family.

Bob started his career in information systems with the City of Walla Walla, Wash., and then moved to Walla Walla Community College. He directed the computer center at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash., from 1980 to 1986. He was general manager of Great American Herb from 1986 to 1988. After 1988, Bob was a partner in Micro Systems Integrators for several years, and then moved to CTS Labs in Tacoma in the late '90s. He retired in 2003.

Bob and Jeanne lived in Olympia, Wash., for 20 years from 1987 to 2007. In Olympia, Bob was a member of The United Churches of Olympia, SCORE Volunteers, and served many years in Kiwanis.

Bob and Jeanne had just moved to Bigfork in April of 2007.

In celebration of Bob's life, a service will be held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 24, at The United Churches, 110 11th Ave. SE, Olympia, WA, with the Rev. F. Mark Dowdy officiating.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pastor's Fund at The United Churches; or Big Brothers Big Sisters of Thurston County, 3434 Martin Way E., Olympia, WA 98506.

Buffalo Funeral Home and Crematory, Bigfork, is caring for the family, and the family would like to say a special thanks to the Kalispell Regional Medical Center and Grace Hospice for their wonderful support to Bob and his family during his illness.
