Pat was born on Feb. 28, 1935, in Somers to Henry and Meta Ficken. She graduated from Flathead County High School in Kalispell and attended the University of Washington for two years.

On Sept. 2, 1955, she married Bernard "Bernie" F. Ray in Seattle. They made their home in Los Angeles for four years and returned to Bellevue in 1959. Pat received her nursing degree from Bellevue Community College and worked in day surgery for Swedish Hospital.

Following retirement, she and her husband moved to Oak Harbor, Wash., and more recently returned to the Bellevue area.

Pat was a church organist at Pilgrim Lutheran Church for many years. She also enjoyed cooking, painting, gardening and travel. Her greatest joy, however, was involvement in family activities and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a den mother for her sons and a Blue Bird leader for her daughters. Her family remembers her as an unconditionally loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother.

Pat was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Ryan, in 2001.
