It's a long wish list.

At roughly $112 million, it's for far more than the city of Kalispell realistically can wish for during the next few years.

It's a list of proposed federally funded street improvements that Kalispell needs. And that includes a little - but not all - of the roughly $100 million cost for a U.S. 93 bypass.

The Kalispell City Council and Planning Board will discuss this wish list at 7 p.m. today during a workshop session at which no votes are legally allowed.

The list includes 31 significant projects that would cost $109.3 million, and 28 small fix-it projects that would cost almost $2.8 million .

Also, the list is from Kalispell's Area Transportation Plan that was recently updated by the Helena-based Robert Peccia and Associates consulting firm. The draft plan outlines the city's street needs.

The draft plan is posted on the city's Web site at kalispell.com.

Some proposed projects include:

-replacing the Old Steel Bridge.

-more work on widening all of U.S. 93 North for four lanes.

-widening West Reserve Drive in several segments.

-improving Whitefish Stage Road in several segments.

-upgrading Helena Flats Road.

-upgrading Stillwater Road in several segments.

-extending Rose Crossing and Church Drive from Whitefish Stage Road to Farm To Market Road.

-upgrades of several other roads.
