John F. Araujo Jr., 75

John F. Araujo Jr., 75, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. John was born on Aug. 22, 1932, in Paauilo, on the Big Island of Hawaii, to John and Cozy Gouveia Araujo Sr. He was raised in Hawaii, attending and graduating from Honoka'a High School. After high school, he attended Hilo Vocational School.

John married Anna K. Nahinu on Sept. 1, 1962. He worked as merchant seaman for many years hauling things between the Hawaiian Islands.

He moved with his wife to Florida in 1999, and then the Montana in 2000 where he resided until he passed away.

John was a member of the Boatmen's Union of Hawaii, the Hawaiian Tug and Barge Association, the Hawaii Motorcycle Club, and the Eagles Lodge of Kalispell.

He loved riding and rebuilding Harley Davidson motorcycles.

John was preceded in death by his sister, Eva Stein; and daughter, Audrey Aina.

He is survived by his wife, Anna K. Araujo; children, Paula Jean Ignacio, Wendell Aina, Kelly (Araujo) Pimentel, John P. Araujo, Anna 'Cory' (Araujo) Alcock and Anuhea Shakra; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of John's life will be at 11 a.m.. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis 'Bear' Kirby officiating. A reception will follow the services at the Eagles Lodge in Kalispell.
