Taking bad food to the next level

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies got a call from a Coram man claiming that workers at a food store in Hungry Horse were trying to poison him.

An individual walked into a convenience store on Montana 25 in Bigfork and tried to redeem a lottery ticket that hadn't yet been activated. That prompted employees to inventory their stock of lottery tickets. They found two rolls of 100 tickets each missing.

A man on Shady Lane called deputies because a friend wouldn't return his car keys. The friend was holding onto the keys because the man was too intoxicated to drive.

A man on U.S. 93 spit in a woman's face and tried to take her son, who he claimed he had custody over. The custody matter is a civil issue, but spitting in someone's face counts as assault.

The front door of a Bear Trail home under construction was kicked in. Tools were taken.

A license plate was stolen off a car on Trumble Creek Road.

Two windows at a gift shop on Electric Avenue in Bigfork were broken out.

A sleepy inmate at the Flathead County Detention Center head butted another inmate for talking to loudly.

Cats left alone for three days at a home on Adams Street in Lakeside were taken to a clinic.

A person told deputies someone entered their Jellison Road residence and stole 200 prescription pills. Nothing else was taken.

Horses, chickens, and other loose animals were reportedly running in and out of a Riley Lane house. The home's owners were copacetic.

A 9-year-old boy wasn't on the van that was supposed to drop him off from school. He was found at a friend's house two hours later.

Three grizzlies parked themselves on a Kuzmic Lane porch. They were also spotted ripping up flower beds.

A woman's boyfriend assaulted her on Shady Lane and then took off running. When deputies arrived, the woman canceled her complaint.

An intoxicated intruder tried to break into a home on Bear Trail in Whitefish. After calling deputies, the home owner recognized the man and canceled the complaint. Deputies kindly gave the man a ride home anyway.

A gray sports car pulled up to a River Place home and smashed a back window with a skateboard.

A woman's "drunk and controlling" boyfriend tried to pull the window off her car as she tried to leave. He was gone from the Ridgewood Terrace residence when deputies arrived.

A car was found in a ditch on Foothills Road.

An assault victim in Hungry Horse absolutely refused to cooperate with law enforcement.
