Matthew Morgan Sellards, 25, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at his residence in Kalispell. He was born on Sept. 16, 1982, in Ketchikan, Alaska, the son of Scott M. and Carolyn S. (McDonald) Sellards.

He spent most of his childhood running through the woods starting fires and chasing bears with his cousin, Wayne. He was always up for any adventure whether it was free diving in the Flathead River, or kayaking with his dad in the open ocean.

He was passionate about jamming on his electric guitar, and loved to go on crazy road trips.

He loved his family with all of his heart, and his sister and his mom could do no wrong in his eyes.

Matt excelled at his work as a Cat operator, and bragged about each new road he had carved out with his uncle, Alan.

Matthew leaves behind a large extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. He is survived by his fiance, Janet; his baby girl, Chloe (11 months); his mother, Carolyn Sellards; his sister, Stephanie, and brother-in-law, Dan; and niece, Ava Scarlett, all of Kalispell; and his father, Scott Sellards, of Seattle.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been set up for Matthew's family at First Interstate Bank in Kalispell.
