A 30-year-old man injured when he was buried in a ditch was in critical condition Wednesday at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
The accident occurred just after 1 p.m. near the Outback Montana RV Park & Campground on Montana 35 in Bigfork.
The man was working in the ditch when the walls of the trench collapsed, according to the Bigfork Fire Department. He was slumped over and partially buried for more than seven minutes before rescuers could dig him out.
He was taken to the hospital via ALERT, where he was unresponsive in the intensive care unit late Wednesday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
