Glacier beats Big Sky, falls to Billings West

HELENA - The Glacier High School girls' soccer team left the Class AA state tournament Friday with a good feeling.
The Wolfpack posted a victory in state play, downing Missoula Big Sky 3-1 before falling to a talented Billings West squad 3-0.
Both matches were loser-out affairs.
"I'm awfully proud of the girls," said Glacier coach Paul Holmgren.
"To make it to state in their first season and then to win a game, we're just very pleased with them."
Maddey Frey scored twice and Skyler St. Onge had the other goal in the victory over Big Sky.
West had just too much firepower in the second match. West outshot Glacier 22-3 on goal.
"We were tired," Holmgren said.
"Billings West is a great team. They did a great job on us."
Glacier finished the season with a 4-11-1 record.
