Business workers, information seekers and entertainment aficionados now have expanded high-speed wireless access in and around Kalispell.

Verizon Wireless announced this week that it expanded its Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) Revision A network to cover Kalispell, northern Flathead Lake, Whitefish, Glacier Park International Airport and surrounding areas. The network enables both Verizon's Broadband Access and V CAST services.

It means wireless phones, laptop computes and other wireless devices can remain in use a little farther from home.

Earlier this year, the company made a similar expansion into Billings, Helena and Missoula.

Verizon's broadband service is geared toward mobile professionals, business customers and on-the-go students. Its V CAST subscribers receive music and short content on demand, including 3D games, music, videos, news, weather and sports.
