George R. Bancroft, 76

George R. Bancroft, 76, passed away Sept. 4, 2007, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. He was born Feb. 24, 1931, in Hermisten, Ore. He went to school in Malta and worked bees with his father before moving to the Flathead Valley.

George worked as an iron worker on the Hungry Horse and Libby Dams.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Grace Bancroft; a son, David; and a daughter, Linda.

He is survived by six children, Jamie Bancroft of Malta, Sandy Moore of Prescott, Ariz., Duane, Willy, Andy, and Robert Bancroft, who are around the Flathead Valley and elsewhere; 17 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

There will be a gathering of friends and family at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the home of George and Bonnie Bancroft. We will be celebrating the life he shared while he was on earth. George will be laid to rest with his parents in Malta at a later date.
