Ida 'Sandy' De Rose, 99

Ida "Sandy" De Rose, 99, of St. Cloud, Minn., and formerly of Kalispell, passed away on Sept. 13, 2007. She was the daughter of John and Julia (Sowa) Sandy.

She married William H. De Rose on Nov. 26, 1947. They lived in Denver for a short while before they moved to Kalispell, where they built and ran the San-Rose Motel for many years.

Ida, better known as Sandy to her friends, picked up the game of golf at the age of 65 and played for more than 30 years. She loved the game and the friendships she made at the different courses she played. She also had a love to travel and visited a number of different countries.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill, in 1974; and brothers and sisters, Ed, Henry, Alfred, George, Walter, William, Lydia Miller, Helen Crites, Martha, Emily, Esther Dowdle and Rhiney.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service and interment was held on Saturday, Sept. 15, at Benton County Cemetery in Sauk Rapids, Minn. Rev. Doug Larson officiated. Arrangements were handled by Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora, Minn.

The family requests no memorials.
