Otto K. 'Lucky' Giles, 85

Otto K. "Lucky" Giles, 85, passed away Sept. 17, 2007, at Brendan House in Kalispell. Lucky was born March 20, 1922, in Clanton, Ala., to Brit and Bessier (Foshee) Giles. He was raised and attended schools in Clanton.

Lucky was an honorably discharged World War II veteran.

In 1952, Lucky married Margaret Vogel in Los Angeles. They were later divorced.

In 1982, he came to visit his best friend in Montana and never left.

He loved fishing and hunting, motorcycles, collecting guns and knives, and visiting with friends.

He had a great sense of humor.

Lucky was a very generous person, helping out others in need without asking for anything in return. He helped out young people and was known as being a "safe haven" for them. He had been active with the Flathead Food Bank for several years.

Lucky was involved with the construction and building materials trades, as well as owning several restaurants over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

He is survived by his children, Kenneth and wife, Eileen Giles, and their children, Jason and Autumn, of Show Low, Ariz.; Ajey Giles and husband, Rick Blake, and their son, Kenton Giles, of Fullerton, Calif., and Jeffrey Giles of Ridgecrest, Calif.; as well as lifetime friend, Bob Rinke, of Kalispell.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, at Buffalo Funeral Home.
