Dog shot after chicken coop caper

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies responded to a disturbance between two neighbors on Spring Hill Road. The disagreement began when one neighbor's dog started chasing the other neighbor's horses. When the horse owner went into the house to get her rifle, the dog then got into the chicken coop. The dog reappeared with an almost featherless chicken in its mouth and got shot. The dog's owner was upset.

A prisoner at the county jail allegedly farted in his cellmate's half of the cell, for which he was punched in the chest.

In another incident, another inmate hit a fellow inmate in the face with a basketball in the recreation room. More punches were thrown.

A 22-year-old man allegedly shot himself in the chest with a .22 caliber rifle in the Jewel Basin. It appears to have been a suicide attempt. He was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

A 22-year-old man was arrested for partner assault after tearing up an apartment on West Reserve Drive.

Two rifles were reported missing from a truck on Holt Stage Road.

Deputies stood by while a man returned his child to its mother on Flathead Drive. The mother complained the father kept the kid past his scheduled time.

A man and woman were fighting on Willow Glen Drive, but worked it out before deputies arrived.

An ex-employee of a fast food restaurant in Evergreen returned to start an argument.

A bear got into some supposedly bear-proof garbage cans on Forest Ridge Drive in Whitefish.

A 50-year-old woman was arrested for trespassing at a casino on U.S. 2 in Evergreen after refusing to leave when employees tried to kick her out for washing her hair in the sink.

A woman on Berne Road in Columbia Falls claims her boyfriend keeps threatening to kill her.
