Rachel 'Marie' Ming, 90

Rachel "Marie" Ming, 90, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. She was born Nov. 29, 1916, to Carl and Clara (Noble) Bowlds in Ames, Iowa, where she lived until she was five.

Marie's family moved to Clyde Park, where she received her early education, graduating from Clyde Park High School. One of Marie's fondest memories was the trips to school in a horse-drawn buggy driven by her teacher.

Marie married John Ming on July 2, 1939, in Clyde Park. The couple then moved to a farm in Bloomfield, where they raised four children.

She loved music and had many hobbies, including, cooking, sewing, crocheting, embroidering and gardening. Marie was a member of the Community Alliance Church. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother; two sisters; and a great-grandson.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Ming of Butte, and Kenneth Ming of Kalispell; and two daughters, Beverly Twist of Kalispell, and Carol Ming of Altadena, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Marie will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, in the Dawson County Cemetery in Glendive.
