Flathead County sheriff

Flathead County sheriff's deputies responded to Mountain View Drive in Hungry Horse, where a man and his wife, both 41, were fighting. After determining that the combat, which involved no weapons, was mutual, deputies arrested both halves of the couple on suspicion of partner assault.

An Ashley Lake Road resident called in a possible burglary at a neighbor's house. Responding deputies found a man there, fishing. He had permission to be there, but left anyway.

Kelley Road neighbors got into a tiff about leashed dogs.

Three abandoned puppies, all stuck with porcupine quills, were found near Steel Bridge Road. They were taken to the county animal shelter.

Items reportedly stolen from a storage unit on Montana 40 were found at a West Idaho Street pawn shop.

A neighbor, suspecting drug activity, called deputies after watching lots of cars pull up to a Shady Lane residence.

Deputies were unable to find a man involved in an argument with a woman at a Somers bar.

A man, after getting into an argument with a woman, decided to break things at a Sunset Drive residence. The couple was separated for the evening.

A man with feathers in his hair walking on River Butte Drive was reported as a suspicious person.

Deputies arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of stealing baseball cards and a G.I. Joe from a store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen.

A mountain lion was stalking a horse on Berne Road.

A Canyon Road man, who had been drinking, called 911 to report there was someone in his house and then hung up on dispatchers. He also hung up, twice, on deputies who then tried to call him back. Deputies went to the man's residence, determined there wasn't really anybody in the house, and asked a sober friend to take care of him.

An Edgewood Drive man called deputies to remove a woman, who had been drinking, from the residence. The man had invited the woman to live with him three months ago, but decided he wanted her to leave.

Two people separated after a fight at a ranch on U.S. 93 west of Whitefish decided not to press charges.

Suspicious people in a white van on U.S. 2 in Evergreen were gone when deputies arrived. The woman who observed the suspicious behavior was scared that the suspects would see her call authorities, so she used text messaging to contact her mother, who called deputies.

Yeoman Hall Road residents were angry because a neighbor was filming them again.

A Tetrault Road resident complained about people coming onto their property at night and littering.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police arrested a 41-year-old man on Teton Street on suspicion of aggravated assault, partner assault, and tampering with a communication device after he allegedly beat up his wife. He claims she pulled a knife on him, but she was the one taken to the emergency room.

A motorist in a Second Avenue West parking lot backed into an elderly woman. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A man, who had been drinking, got into a fight with his girlfriend, hopped in the car and promptly drove it through a neighbor's fence.

A Second Avenue West woman told police someone used her kitchen while she was asleep, and didn't clean up.

An intoxicated hitchhiker, who was stepping out in front of cars on East Idaho Street, was gone when police arrived.

A mother and her son locked her husband out of their Denver Avenue residence, and then called police when he tried to break in.

Officers told neighbors arguing on West Utah Street to knock it off and go inside.

A car was observed driving down the bike path in front of Flathead Valley Community College.

Tires on a car parked at a Third Avenue West residence were slashed.

Ducks found wandering about near Second Avenue West were returned to Woodland Park.

A 43-year-old man and his 42-year-old wife were arrested on warrants for failure to pay court fines during a traffic stop on Sixth Avenue East North. No word on who drove the car home.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 48-year-old man on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drug possession on Wisconsin Avenue after he was pulled over for speeding.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police arrested a 40-year-old man on suspicion of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct at a fast-food restaurant on Ninth Street.

Two high-school students got into an argument over a parking spot.

Alarms

The Evergreen Fire Department, South Kalispell Fire Department, West Valley Fire Department, and Smith Valley Fire Department were paged to a reported structure fire at a business on U.S. 2. The smoke, it turns out, was actually coming from a wood-burning stove.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a Meridian Road building after somebody reported smelling smoke. The smell was actually coming from an overheated light fixture.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a hit gas line on Lacy Lane and a blown power transformer on Columbia Avenue.
