Howard Bischoff, 95
Howard Bischoff, 95, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008, at Heritage Place in Kalispell. He was born May 3, 1912, in Kalispell, to Gustav and Bertha Bischoff.
Howard graduated from Flathead County High School and the University of Montana in Missoula. He served four years in Naval intelligence during World War II.
His working career started as a paperboy for the Daily Inter Lake. He spent many years representing the family brewery, The Kalispell Malting and Brewing Company.
His marriages to Betty Brady and Thelma Strom ended in divorce. Both have passed away. Ethel Brewer, his dear friend, lived in Plains, and has also died.
Howard will be missed by all who know him for his wonderful wit and his unique sayings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Minnie Hall and Helen Jernberg.
He is survived by his nephew, Dr. Dale G. Hall, and wife, Susan Russell Hall, of Lakeview, Wash.; two grandnieces, Gretchen Hall Distler of Millburn, N.J., and Julie Hall Akerlund of Helena; and one grandnephew, Christopher Hogberg, of Boulder, Colo.
Graveside services for Howard Bischoff will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The family suggests donations be made to any children's charity of your choice.
