Bravettes gain split on the road

MISSOULA - Flathead finished up on a high note, downing Missoula Sentinel 8-4 Thursday for a split in Western AA softball play.

The Bravettes began the day falling to Missoula Big Sky, 5-4.

"It was snowing, blowing and cold," Flathead coach Dale Beerman said.

"It was miserable."

The Bravettes stranded 10 runners in the loss to Big Sky. Flathead out-hit the Eagles, 8-6.

Heather Haegele and Meagan Hash both had two hits for FHS.

Flathead jumped in front of Sentinel 8-0.

"We should have been out of here with two conference wins," Beerman.

Flathead out-hit Sentinel 11-9 with Haegele going 3-for-4. Kendra Bennett, Shaina Evans and Justine Hayes all had two hits apiece.

Flathead is back on the road Saturday at Helena Capital, 11 a.m., and Helena High, 1 p.m.
