Barry Lloyd Schulze, 63
Barry Lloyd Schulze, 63, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at his home in Kalispell. He was born March 6, 1945, in Glendive, to Frederick and Georgia (Hatton) Schulze.
Barry was a television and radio broadcaster, both nationally and locally. As a dear friend, Vicki Faulkner, said, 'Barry always asked the hard questions and investigated who and what was affecting questionable changes. He practiced a rare professionalism on the air in that he never told the listener what to think, but instead laid out well-researched facts without bias or emotion and allowed the audience to draw their own conclusions.'
He grew up in Glendive, and the trademark deep voice would prevent him from singing in grade school choirs. Even in grade school his voice was 'too deep.'
His military service, under Col. Dwight Bonin, formed so much of the character and strength that was Barry.
He married Danneen Dorris on July 8, 1990, in Columbia Falls.
'Barry, you will be missed.'
Barry was preceded in death by his loved and respected parents, Frederick and Georgia Schulze; his mother-in-law and best friend, Diane Dorris; and his colonel.
He is survived by his wife and soul mate, Danneen Schulze, of Kalispell; one son, Bo; a daughter, Abbie; two sisters, Carol Ackerman, of Priest River, Idaho, and Judy Bauer and husband Jim of Orchards, Wash.; two sisters-in-law, Diana Dorris of Kalispell, and Dena Wood of Columbia Falls; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and others who will greatly miss his wisdom, his humor and his enormous heart.
There are no services or visitation planned for Barry at this time.
The family suggests memorials be given to the Veterans Food Pantry in Kalispell.
Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Barry's family. You are invited to go to www.jgfuneralhome.com to offer condolences and sign Barry's guest book.
