Stanley Hester, 71

Stanley Hester, 71, of Tucson, Ariz., passed away from lymphoma cancer Wednesday, July 30, 2008.

Stanley was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Earl and Ree (Hale) Hester. The family moved to Montana when he was 3 years old. He graduated from Manhattan High School, then attended college in Havre.

Stanley had two daughters, Angie and Brenda, from a previous marriage. He married Janice Figgins, and they have been married for 35 years.

Stanley farmed, worked as a mechanic and also was a truck driver. He enjoyed working on cars and built a roadster for quarter-mile racing and a rail dragster.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lois Chaney; brother-in-law, Bill LaRue; and father-in-law, Everett Figgins.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; daughters, Angie and Brenda; brother, Clarence, and Judy, of Helena; sisters, Alice LaRue of Palmer, Alaska, and Norma and Dallas Thompson of Bozeman; mother-in-law, May Figgins, of Bozeman; brothers-in-law, Ray and Pat Figgins, and Bill and Margaret Chaney, both of Manhattan; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
