Jerry Lee Hartley, 59, passed away Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. He was born April 18, 1949, in Klamath Falls, Ore., to Howard and Dorothy (Mouw) Hartley.

While going to high school, Jerry was employed in the construction industry. After graduating from Flathead County High School, he continued to work construction and then for Plum Creek Lumber.

Jerry married Gloria DeGolier in Kalispell on July 16, 1971, and they later divorced.

On May 1, 1976, Jerry and Joette Logsdon were married in Kalispell.

Jerry's career continued with work at Super One Foods and eventually at Harpline Construction. In 1994, while working at Harpline, Jerry began caring for his mother. At that time it was necessary for him to take an early retirement and devote his time to Dorothy, until her passing in 1998. Eventually, Jerry began work with Lanny Barton as sub-drivers for the Daily Inter Lake.

Jerry loved hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, cooking and having good times with friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wilbur and Jack; two sisters, Opal Swanson and Jean Wilkenson, and his beloved dog, Rascal.

He is survived by his wife, Joette Hartley, and mother-in-law, Mary Evenson, of Kalispell; sister, Judy Walsh, of Pasco, Wash.; and brother, Raymond Hartley, of Klamath Falls. He also leaves behind his loving pets, Ricky, Sissy, Nik and Nak; as well as many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.

Memorial services for Jerry will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, in the Johnson-Gloschat Funeral chapel, with Pastor Tim Bartholomew of Stillwater Free Lutheran Church officiating. Urn burial will be afterward in the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery with military honors.

The family suggests memorial gifts be given to the Flathead Animal Shelter, 225 Cemetery Road, Kalispell, MT 59901; or the Northwest Montana Humane Society, P.O. Box 221, Kalispell, MT 59903.
