A 43-year-old Evergreen man was arrested on suspicion of family member assault at a motel on Montana 35 after allegedly slapping around his 10-year-old daughter. The man reportedly lied to Flathead County sheriff's deputies about who he was to avoid being identified as a fugitive, so he also was ticketed on suspicion of obstructing justice.

An iPod, iPod charger, and radar detector were stolen from a car on Church Street in Bigfork.

A man carrying a rifle and a big knife was spotted walking down North Ferndale Drive. He reportedly was looking for a welder to repair his gun.

Deputies responded to a West Glacier woman's Third Avenue residence after her ex-husband threatened her over a cat. The man, who initially refused to leave, was gone when deputies arrived.

A person passing the parking lot of a box store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen called deputies after observing a man and woman in the back seat of a green minivan who looked as if they were about to do something inappropriate. The car was gone when deputies arrived.

In response to separate complaints, deputies warned women on Mountain Meadow Road and Harmony Road to stop making harassing phone calls.

Deputies separated a man and woman on Graham Lane, who had gotten into an argument over him wrecking his car.

Youths accused of throwing rocks in a dangerous manner on Lake Blaine Road were actually tossing crab apples.

One large man and two younger men riding bicycles on Alberta Street were reported as suspicious. Evidently there had been several thefts in the area. The trio was gone when deputies arrived.

A Gordon Avenue woman reported a prowler on her porch, but it turned out to be a friend of her son.

Three children were released into the custody of their parents after they were caught walking on the roof of an Electric Avenue building.

Somebody spray-painted a wall and dumped a can of house paint on an elementary school in Lakeside.

Deputies ticketed a driver on U.S. 2 near Kila on suspicion of littering after a fellow motorist reported copious volumes of garbage flying out of the back of his truck.

Neighbors on Electric Avenue on Bigfork got into a dispute about a business sign.

Deputies received 162 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police arrested a man on one Flathead County warrant and five Kalispell warrants for failure to appear and failure to comply with court orders after a South Meridian Road woman complained about him urinating next to her window.

An employee recently fired from a Kelly Road business left threatening messages for his former boss.

Officers served a 30-year-old man incarcerated in the Flathead County Detention Center with a warrant for criminal endangerment and arrested a 19-year-old woman with warrants for forgery, theft, deceptive practices, and obstructing police at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

An employee of a casino on West Montana Street complained after transients set up camp across the street from her place of employment.

Men on West Idaho Street got into a fight over money.

Someone stole a computer from a room at an East Idaho Street motel.

Tires were slashed on a car parked at an East Idaho Street restaurant.

The swinging arm of a garbage truck damaged a fence on Third Avenue East North.

A reportedly belligerent man blocked the entrance of a bulk store on U.S. 93 North with his car and then allegedly caused a disturbance with employees.

Officers received 71 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police received 30 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police responded to Railroad Street and Nucleus Avenue, where a 32-year-old man kept shouting to passers-by for help, apparently without cause. Things escalated, and the man was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and obstructing police.

Sunglasses and binoculars were stolen from a car on Grace Road.

Officers received 20 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Alarms

The Columbia Falls Fire Department and Three Rivers EMS responded to a crash on Railroad Street near the viaduct, but no one needed treatment at the hospital.

Three Rivers EMS responded to Ninth Street West to treat a fall victim. The patient, who reportedly was bleeding severely, was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

The Kalispell Fire Department and Somers Fire Department responded to a crash on Tamarack Woods Drive.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to a crash near a box store on U.S. 2 and transported an injured man to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. A non-injury crash occurred 20 minutes later in front of a grocery store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen, tying up traffic for about an hour.

The Evergreen Fire Department also responded to reports of sparking wires on Montana 35.

An 11-year-old girl was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center by the Kalispell Fire Department after suffering a hip or pelvis injury at the sports complex across from Flathead Valley Community College.
