Swimmer missing near dam

Searchers are looking for a 25-year-old man who went missing Saturday afternoon after diving into Hungry Horse Reservoir.

According to the Flathead County Sheriff's Office, the man never resurfaced after diving in shortly after 4 p.m. at Devil's Elbow just below Hungry Horse Dam.

Flathead County sheriff's deputies, members of the Flathead County Search and Rescue team and the county dive team are searching for the man. Three Rivers EMS, Canyon QRU, Hungry Horse Fire Department and ALERT helicopter also were on scene Saturday.

The man, who is thought to be local, was swimming with friends. His name has not been released.
