Searchers recovered the body of a 25-year-old drowning victim shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday, downstream of the Hungry Horse Reservoir.
The Flathead County Sheriff's Office did not release the man's identity Sunday, pending notification of his family.
The man never resurfaced after diving in shortly after 4 p.m. at Devil's Elbow just below Hungry Horse Dam on the Flathead River's South Fork.
Flathead County sheriff's deputies, members of the Flathead County Search and Rescue team and the county dive team conducted the search. Three Rivers EMS, Canyon Quick Response Unit, Hungry Horse Fire Department and ALERT helicopter also were on scene Saturday.
The man, who is thought to be from the area, was swimming with friends.
