Searching Sperry for signs of a missing hiker

| August 27, 2008 1:00 AM

Flathead County Mountain Rescue Team members gear up at the base of Sperry Glacier in Glacier National Park. From left are Brian Johnson, Bob Lee, Gary Pressons, Dan Sitkins, James Dion and Gerry Nichols-Pagel. They were part of a search effort looking for missing hiker Yi-Jien Hwa. A special 15-member team with technical rope rescue training - part of a broader search involving 90 miles of Glacier Park trails - focused on the Sperry Glacier area Saturday and Sunday. With no sign of Hwa after six days of searching, the effort to find the Kentucky man has been scaled back to two search teams.
