Flathead County sheriff

Five Flathead County sheriff's deputies responded to reports of an assault on U.S. 2 between Hungry Horse and Martin City. A man allegedly beat up his ex-girlfriend's male friend. Investigators are searching for the suspect.

An inmate at the juvenile detention center is accused of vandalizing the building.

Deputies were requested to conduct an extra patrol on Canyon Road in Hungry Horse after a resident noticed some suspicious activity. What that activity was is unknown.

Deputies told a man sitting against a convenience store near the intersection of U.S. 93 and Montana 82 to move along. He reportedly had been in the area for a few days.

A man allegedly pushed another man on U.S. 2 near Marion and then left. No weapons were involved, and nobody needed medical attention.

A younger looking man on a four-wheeler was chasing deer in a field off Helena Flats Road.

The mother of a runaway juvenile went to go collect two youths after they were found in Columbia Heights.

Deputies responded to Shady Lane where two roommates were arguing. One allegedly refused to leave.

Three kids on bikes accused of throwing rocks at a car were gone from a convenience store on Reserve Drive when deputies arrived.

Change was stolen from the ashtray of a car on Springcreek Drive, but the thief left the stereo and GPS unit.

The homeowners association of a neighborhood on Flathead Lake complained about a woman sunbathing topless.

Deputies received 173 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Kalispell police

As students return for the new school year, Kalispell police remind motorists to drive safely near intersections and school zones, observing the reduced speed limits.

Officers responded to a department store in a Center Street mall and arrested a 32-year-old man on a warrant for sexual assault.

A 31-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman, incarcerated in the Flathead County Detention Center, were served with Kalispell warrants for contempt of court.

Officers responded to Depot Park after receiving reports that a man was semi-stripping and using other people's lawn chairs. Officers watched the man and determined he wasn't stripping or creating a disturbance, just enjoying the music.

A reckless driver was followed from a box store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen to a pizza joint on East Idaho Street, where he got out of his car. The 35-year-old man was found and arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Someone knocked on the door of a residence on U.S. 93 North, then rang the bell. Nobody was there, however, when the resident opened the door.

Police were called to 13th Street East, where a woman and her daughter were fighting over a cell phone.

A man in a yellow leather jacket and black mask was seen pulling on locked doors on First Avenue East.

Graffiti was found in Woodland Park and on a Third Street West bank.

Someone allegedly tried to break into a garage on East Center Street.

Officers received 68 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Whitefish police

An Idaho Avenue resident told Whitefish police their Subaru Outback had been stolen.

Officers received 29 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police received reports that a boat had been stolen from a grocery store on U.S. 2.

Someone stole beer from the same grocery store at 5:30 in the morning.

Officers received 20 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Alarms

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a crash on Baker Avenue, but nobody required transport to the hospital.

The Bigfork Fire Department was paged out to reports of a downed tree on LaBrant Road.

The ALERT helicopter and Marion ambulance responded to a rollover crash on Ashley Lake Road. One man was flown to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
