Marian L. Cullen, 87

Former teacher and homemaker, Marian L. Cullen, 87, of Great Falls died of natural causes Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at a long-term care facility.

No services are planned at her request. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Laurie Cullen, of Whitefish; two granddaughters, Holly and McCara Cullen; a brother, Ed, and his wife, Norma Lamberg, of San Diego; a sister, Jean, and her husband, John Hughes of LaJolla, Calif.

Marian was born March 29, 1921, in Elk Park, the daughter of Swan and Ruth (Swan) Lamberg.

After graduating from Butte High School in 1939, Marian attended Montana State College and graduated with a degree in home economics. Marian taught at Whitehall before marrying William T. Cullen, Jr. on June 16, 1946, in Butte. In the early 1950s, they moved to Scobey, where they taught school, and later moved to Great Falls.

She was a member of Pi Beta Phi while attending Montana State College, as well as a life member of the Montana State Alumni Association. Marian volunteered many hours with RSVP, and the Visitors Information Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 13, 1990; and her parents.
