The principal of a Bigfork high school called Flathead County Sheriff's deputies after two students got into a fight at lunch. One student allegedly threw a milk carton at another student, who threw it back. Punches reportedly were exchanged before the altercation devolved into a wrestling match.

A man planted a bunch of evergreen trees on his Meadow Lake Boulevard property. But someone cut them all down, possibly to put lights on for Christmas.

A Clear Springs Trail woman called deputies to report an argument between her 17-year-old and 14-year-old stepdaughters. An hour later she called back to report that her husband was now threatening to send her to jail.

Deputies responded to a motel on Montana 35 in Evergreen after dispatchers received a 911 hang-up and broke up a domestic argument.

A Rhodes Draw resident called to report that bank and credit cards, last seen a week ago, were now missing.

Deputies responded to Canyon Drive in Hungry Horse after a man and his 15-year-old son got into an altercation. Both parties were counseled.

A Somers resident thought she located the firewood stolen from her property during the last month in the back of a truck parked in a church parking lot. Deputies had no way of determining whether it was the same wood.

Deputies responded to Burns Street in Somers, where a resident upset about the neighbor's barking dogs allegedly was banging on the offending party's door.

Someone broke out the window of a motor home and rifled through a van in Birch Drive in Evergreen.

In an apparent attempt to steal it, somebody pushed a River Place resident's four-wheeler into the middle of the street before running off. CDs reportedly were taken from a vehicle parked on the same street.

Deputies received 137 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police were called to a home on Second Avenue West after residents reported that a man had stolen food and DVDs and then left. Officers arrested the man, who claimed he had permission to take the items, for violating his probation. When officers visited the home to ask the property owner if he had indeed given the man permission, they were told he wasn't home. But he was, and police arrested him - also for probation violation. The two people who lied to police were cited for obstructing justice.

A woman at a hotel on U.S. 2 West told officers her son had been assaulted.

A former employee of a sandwich shop on South Main Street apparently hid in the store after closing. He reportedly had threatened to rob the place.

Officers arrested a 41-year-old man for possessing stolen property at a pawn shop on West Idaho Street.

An anonymous caller accused a woman of abusing her unborn child. She allegedly was smoking marijuana.

Officers responded to a home on Windward Way and arrested a 19-year-old woman for violating her probation.

Officers arrested a 41-year-old man for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and a 31-year-old woman on a warrant after receiving a 911 hang-up on First Avenue East.

Someone left a threatening message on the answering machine at a union hall on Second Avenue West.

The driver of a four-wheeler on East Idaho Street refused to stop for pursuing officers.

Police got a call from an employee of a business on First Avenue East North, who accused a supervisor of removing the muffler on a delivery van and exposing him to carbon monoxide.

Officers received 72 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police received 26 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police responded to a disturbance at a convenience store on U.S. 2. The parties involved were warned.

Officers received 14 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Alarms

The smell of exhaust pervaded offices at the Justice Center on South Main Street, prompting employees to call the Kalispell Fire Department.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to reports of a gas leak at a fast-food restaurant on U.S. 93.

Big Mountain ambulance responded to Big Mountain Road to treat a patient with tender ribs.

The South Kalispell Fire Department responded to what was reported as an illegal but controlled burn on Conrad Drive.
