Kalispell Fire Department
The Kalispell Fire Department responded to the Youth Court building in the courthouse loop Monday afternoon when a malfunctioning furnace filled the basement with smoke. Fire truck traffic temporarily blocked Main Street. No one was injured, and inmates of the juvenile detention facility were not evacuated.
Flathead County sheriff
Flathead County Sheriff's deputies responded to an Evergreen grocery store after a man in a wheelchair was accused of shoplifting. The man, who reportedly tried to wheel away from pursuing employees, was cited and released. He also had a warrant for misdemeanor theft.
Someone kicked in the door to a residence on Second Avenue South in Hungry Horse and made off with a DVD player.
A Solberg Drive resident told deputies someone plowed their driveway and then tore up a hay bale on the property.
A Judith Road woman confronted a man about stolen money. Now the man won't stop making harassing phone calls, she told deputies.
Deputies responded to Seville Lane after receiving reports that a woman was assaulting a man. The man, who suffered a mouth injury, did not want to press charges.

Kalispell police
Kalispell police arrested an 18-year-old man for shoplifting after he allegedly tried to take two pizzas and a frozen dinner from a grocery store on U.S. 93 South. He was also charged with alcohol possession.
A laptop computer was reported stolen from a pawn shop on West Idaho Street.
A driver in a parking lot off U.S. 93 North told police another man was trying to fight him over a road rage incident. Turns out no one wanted to file a complaint.
Officers arrested a 24-year-old man for theft after a bike went missing on First Avenue West.
Purses were reported stolen on Second Avenue West and Sunnyview Lane.
A woman called police after hearing from a third party that her daughter was at a residence on Seventh Avenue West doing drugs.

A Railway Street resident called Whitefish police to report his car stolen. Turns out the vehicle had been towed because it was parked in front of a driveway.

Columbia Falls police received 21 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Alarms
The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a crash on First Avenue East and Second Street. Two people suffered minor injuries.
Three Rivers EMS and the Canyon Quick Response Unit were paged out to a residence on Mountain Drive in Hungry Horse after a man complained of leg pain. He was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
