Elaine Clara Stenson, 88
of Kalispell, passed away Dec. 28, 2008, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell.
She was born July 19, 1920, in Mason City, Iowa, to Sven and Clara Marie (Berge) Huso. She moved to the Flathead Valley with her family in 1935 and graduated from Columbia Falls High School. She was a graduate of Kinman Business College, Spokane.
On Nov. 9, 1940, she married Perry Stenson. Elaine and Perry resided in Kalispell where Elaine was employed as a secretary for the American Timber Company for 35 years, and Perry owned and operated the Rainbow Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara Marie (Berge) and Sven ES Huso; her beloved husband, Perry, in 1987; three brothers, Stanley, Rolf and Fred Huso; and two sisters, Sonoma Viegel and Helen Young.
Elaine will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for her wonderful laugh and her warm heart.
Elaine is survived by her four nieces, Pam Huso of Vancouver ,Wash., Nancy Huso of Columbia Falls, and Manuela Huso and Renata Beck of Oregon; and four nephews, Ambassador Ravic Huso of Vientiane, Laos, Brad Young of Nebraska, Mark Young of Idaho, and Chuck Young of California; and many great-nieces and -nephews.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. There will be a graveside ceremony and inurnment in the spring.
