The Montana Department of Transportation issued a warning Monday to drivers on Northwest Montana highways. Snow and ice covered U.S. 2 from the Idaho border to Marion as snowfall severely reduced visibility on U.S. 93 from Stryker to the Canadian border. Three to six inches of snow an hour were falling on Montana 37 north of Libby Monday afternoon, prompting the department to issue a warning about severe driving conditions.

Vehicles slid off the road on Montana 40, U.S. 2 near Glacier Park International Airport, Echo Lake Road, East Evergreen Drive, Lower Valley Road and Silver Leaf Drive.

Flathead County Sheriff's Department

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies responded to a Caroline Street residence and broke up an argument between a woman and her daughter. The altercation reportedly was over some property. The daughter was told to leave the residence.

Someone stole a snowboard on Big Mountain. In an unrelated incident, tools were reported from a construction site, also on the mountain.

A Hungry Horse woman called to report that her neighbor's dog got loose and ended up in a corral with her horses.

Headphones were reported stolen from an Evergreen electronics store.

Deputies were called to Grand Drive in Bigfork after someone there reported problems with the way snow was being plowed.

Deputies helped a Badrock Drive resident solve a custody problem.

A Rose Crossing resident reported receiving a series of harassing phone calls and a Helena Flats Road resident reported receiving obscene text messages.

About an hour after deputies responded to a disturbance at a Springcreek Drive residence, deputies were called back about a possible suicide attempt.

Deputies received 128 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Kalispell Police

Kalispell police responded to a North Main Street motel after a man urinated in the parking lot. He reportedly was also involved in an argument with a woman sitting in a nearby vehicle. Officers arrested the man for disorderly conduct, obstructing police, and two misdemeanor warrants from other jurisdictions.

A man allegedly harassing a Fourth Avenue West resident refused to leave, until officers were called.

Items were stolen from a car parked outside a furniture store on East Idaho Street.

A Woodland Avenue woman called officers to report her 13-year-old son missing after he failed to return from sledding in a nearby park. He was found while the woman was on the phone with authorities. However, the woman started yelling at her brother-in-law about the incident and so officers were sent anyway.

Officers responded to First Avenue West after a man showed up at an ex-girlfriend's home and wouldn't stop harassing her. He allegedly banged on the windows and threw snowballs at the house. Officers told the man to stay away, but he reportedly returned after police had left.

Cash was reported stolen from a home on Second Avenue West.

Officers were called to settle an argument between two roommates on South Meridian Road. One wanted the other to leave.

A Seventh Avenue West woman got a call from a person who she thought was her granddaughter. The supposed granddaughter said she had been drinking and needed help. But when the woman swung by her granddaughter's residence, she discovered the call came from someone else.

Officers received 65 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Whitefish Police

Whitefish police arrested a 47-year-old woman for driving under the influence of alcohol after she ran into a snow bank off Spokane Avenue.

A jacket was reported stolen from a Central Avenue bar.

Officers received 35 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Columbia Falls Police

Columbia Falls police received 33 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Alarms

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to reports of a chimney fire on Third Avenue East. It was quickly extinguished.

The Badrock Fire Department and Three Rivers EMS responded to Montana 206 after a vehicle slid off the road and rolled.

The ALERT helicopter, Coram Fire Department, Martin City Fire Department, and Canyon Quick Response Unit were paged out to a crash on U.S. 2 near Coram.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to an East Edgewood Drive residence for a possible gas leak.

Big Mountain Ambulance took a person with a neck injury suffered on the mountain to North Valley Hospital.
