Flathead County Sheriff's deputies responded to Fifth Street West in Hungry Horse after a 45-year-old man allegedly hit his sister in the head. He was arrested for family member assault. The alleged blow reportedly occurred after an argument that escalated from yelling and screaming.

Deputies also responded to disturbances on Conrad Drive, South Cedar Drive and Cougar Trail near Whitefish.

Deputies arrested a 41-year-old man for driving under the influence of alcohol on West Reserve Drive. The man is also suspected in a hit-and-run crash that was reported two hours after his arrest.

Money and medication were reported stolen on Shady Lane. Medication was also reported stolen in Creston.

A resident on U.S. 93 south of Whitefish called deputies to complain about the snowmobilers trespassing on their property.

A man skiing on Big Mountain fell into a tree well. He was having problems breathing.

Shots were heard on Helena Flats Road. Deputies were unable to find anything amiss.

Vehicles slid off the road on U.S. 93 near the county dump, West Reserve Drive, Birch Grove Road, U.S. 2 and Whitefish Stage Road.

Deputies received 153 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police cited a 39-year-old woman for theft after she ate a cheese stick in a grocery store on U.S. 93 South without paying for it. She reportedly left the wrapper in some other aisle.

A man, possibly intoxicated, yelled at employees of a Mexican restaurant on U.S. 93 South and then left.

Someone stole a purse from a store in a Center Street mall.

A Ford Way resident received harassing messages. The suspect and her mother both were counseled.

A Fifth Avenue West resident called police to complain about her neighbor's possible drug use and their parking habits.

After responding to a noise complaint on Bluestone Drive, officers broke up an argument between a woman and her husband. Snowmobiles somehow were involved.

Stereos were reported stolen from vehicles on Seventh Avenue East and Eighth Avenue East.

Officers received 75 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 30-year-old woman on a misdemeanor warrant for deceptive practices at a home on Winter Loop.

Officers also arrested a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old man on warrants for theft and accountability to theft after they turned themselves in at the station.

Officers received 53 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police were called to a Ninth Street West restaurant after a customer became upset with employees over their order of chicken. The customer left before officers arrived.

A domestic disturbance on Sixth Avenue East North turned out to be verbal only. The warring parties were separated.

Officers received 16 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Alarms

The Somers Fire Department responded to an arena on U.S. 93 South after somebody reported smelling an odor similar to gas.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to reports of a gas leak on Seventh Avenue East and the Bigfork Fire Department responded to reports of a gas leak on Ichabod Court.

The Somers Fire Department also responded to Lakeside Avenue after someone burned food on the stove, filling the residence with smoke, and to a chimney fire on Bierney Creek Road.

Bigfork Ambulance responded to a rollover crash on Montana 82, but no one was injured.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a bank on U.S. 93 North after a woman had an allergic reaction. She was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
