Sentinel trips Flathead

MISSOULA - The Braves and the Spartans played another thriller - and the Braves came up just short again.

The Flathead High School boys' basketball team lost a 56-54 Western AA nail-biter at Missoula Sentinel on Tuesday night, less than a month after falling to the Spartans, 74-68, in double overtime.

Junior Brock Osweiler had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead Flathead, which led 30-26 at halftime. Jake Thiesen tallied 11 points and four assists for the Braves, who dropped to 2-5 in Western AA play and 10-5 overall.

Sentinel had three players score in double figures, including Mark Henkel with 17. Andy Garland and Kendal Maier added 10 points apiece, and Garland grabbed 11 boards.

The Braves entertain Missoula Big Sky on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
