Floyd Ambrose Pauli, 84
Floyd Ambrose Pauli, 84, of Kalispell passed away at his home Feb. 6, 2008. He was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Conrad, the son of Harry and Gladys (Miller) Pauli.
Floyd married the love of his life, Lola (Rietz), with whom he shared 64 years. Together they had three sons, Terry, Steve and Neil.
During World War II, Floyd served as an Army nurse from 1944 to 1946 and was honorably discharged.
Floyd worked for the Montana State Highway Department for 32 years and then worked on the Smalls Farm east of Kalispell. He volunteered as a school board member and on the PTA in Eureka and he was a member of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Posse.
He enjoyed flying his private plane, fishing, hunting, gold panning and camping. Lola and Floyd spent some of their most special times traveling to Alaska and the Southwest after Floyd's retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Lola; their sons, Terry, and Steve and wife, Christy, grandchildren, Edward, Tim, Jennifer, Sharon, Angela and Josh; great-grandson, Jonathan; and his parents, Dan and Amy Jacobs; and great-granddaughter, Alaina Pauli.
Floyd has been blessed with friends of all ages who have surrounded him with love and support. His extended family has brought joy and fulfillment to his life. Bobbi Jo, Sam, Erin, Alexa and Brooklyn were his "Kalispell grandkids" who brightened his life.
He was preceded in death by his son, Neil; his parents; brother, Cyril; and sisters, Claudia, Verna and Donna.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to ALERT Air Ambulance Fund, c/o Northwest Healthcare Foundation, 310 Sunnyview Lane, Kalispell, MT 59901.
Graveside services will be held at a later date. Please join the family at their home, 404 Sylvan Drive, from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, for a potluck get together.
