Jerry E. Barber, 90

We are mourning the loss of Jerry E. Barber, who passed on Feb. 8, 2008, at 90 years of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dilbert and Lola Barber; and his siblings, Margaret, Marybelle, Wilbert, Gladden, and Francis of Meigs County, Ohio.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margorie Barber; his daughter, Gloria Styer; son-in-law, Gerald Styer of Kalispell; and granddaughter, Tara Styer residing in San Diego; also Jerry's siblings, Kathleen, Thelma, Ronald, and Kenneth, who reside in Meigs County.

Jerry was a World War II veteran among the few who were stationed in Bastogne, Belgium, during the Battle of the Bulge, returning home in 1946 to wed Margorie M. Bibbee.

Jerry was a loving father and hard-working man who farmed for many years and ultimately retired from the Athens County Water Department in 1980. Jerry and Marjorie moved to Lakeside in 1988 to be closer to their daughter, granddaughter, and son-in-law demonstrating his exceptional love for his family.

In honor of his request, there will be private services held at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
